Android : How to Recover a Deleted Photo?

Losing a precious photo can be frustrating, but all is not lost! There are several ways to try and recover an accidentally deleted image. Here are four simple and effective methods.

1. Check the Trash

Before trying anything else, check if the deleted photo is still in your photo app’s trash folder.

  • On Google Photos or Gallery:
    • Open the app
    • Go to the Trash or Bin folder
    • Select the image and tap Restore
    • This option is available for up to 30 days after deletion

2. Search in Google Photos

If your phone is synced with Google Photos, the image might still be there.

  • Type the name or date of the photo in the search bar
  • Check archives or hidden albums

3. Use Recovery Software

If the photo is no longer on your phone, try using a specialized recovery tool.

  • DiskDigger (Android) or Dr.Fone (PC) can scan your device’s storage for deleted files
  • These tools work best if the deletion is recent

4. Check Your SD Card or Cloud Storage

If you use a microSD card, the photo might still be stored there. Similarly, a cloud service may have backed up your image.

  • Check OneDrive, Dropbox, or any other cloud storage
  • If automatic backup was enabled, you can retrieve your photo in just a few clicks

Recovering a deleted photo is often possible thanks to backups and recovery tools. To prevent future loss, always enable cloud synchronization to keep your memories safe!
